The Congregation of Saint Michael the Archangel is a religious family in which priests and
brothers live and work in a fraternal community. It was founded by Blessed Bronisław
Markiewicz at the end of the 19th century, who commissioned his spiritual sons to carry the
Gospel to the ends of the world, especially to needy children and youth. A special role in the
life and ministry of the Michaelites is held by the Prince of the Heavenly Host—Saint Michael
the Archangel - and Mary, Queen of Angels.
The Michaelites undertake the ministry of the Word of God, missionary activity ad gentes,
parish ministry, and dynamic youth ministry. Apart from Poland, we have missions in almost
all geographical latitudes: from the USA and Canada, through Poland, Belarus, Germany,
Switzerland, Italy, Argentina, Paraguay, and Aruba, to the Dominican Republic and Papua
New Guinea.
Prayer and material offerings enable us to undertake initiatives to help the local population
and educate the poorest children and youth. In the poorest countries, the maintenance of
missionaries and mission stations is supported by the offerings of the faithful. By getting
involved in one-time or ongoing support for the missions, you join the group of Friends of the
Michaelite Missions, and in this way, you fulfill your personal missionary vocation received at
baptism.
