Relics of Blessed Fr. Jerzy Popieluszko in Papua New Guinea
On May 20, 2023, a walking pilgrimage from Lea to Muli, where the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima is located, arrived at the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Ruqust. The entire route was over 500 km long.
The pilgrims, led by Fr. Jarosław Wiśniewski (Diocese of Białystok) and Fr. Marcin Wyrkowski OSPPE, visited our Shrine. During the pilgrimage, a copy of the image of Our Lady of Częstochowa was carried, and one of the main intentions was to pray for peace in Ukraine. Thanks to Fr. Marcin, the relics of Blessed Fr. Jerzy Popiełuszko were brought to the Shrine. These are the latest additions to the relics of St. Faustina Kowalska, St. John Paul II, St. Gianna Beretta Molla, Blessed Bronisław Markiewicz, Blessed Michał Sopoćko, and Blessed Peter To Rota, which have been put on public display.
