"Who loves me..." - Blessed Bronislaw Markiewicz Day in the Dominican Republic
This is the second such meeting where all the confreres from the island, together with their parishioners, came to Santo Domingo to thank God for the gift of our religious congregation at the Michaelite center in Los Alcarrizos, to pray for the canonization of our Founding Father, and also for new and holy priestly and religious vocations. We began with a staged scene from the life of our Founder, performed by the theater group "Warriors of Saint Michael the Archangel," who came from our sanctuary in Santiago. Then our seminarians shared their vocation testimonies, emphasizing that they are just like other young people, except that they listened to the voice of God. Each parish presented its musical talents. The solemn Mass was presided over by Bishop Faustino Burgos, CM, of the Diocese of Bani. After the Eucharist, there was exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and prayer for new and holy priestly and religious vocations. We honored our Father Founder by kissing his relics. Bishop Faustino was moved by the theatrical performance. He noted that, just like in the family of young Bronisław, there were also many siblings in his home, as many as seventeen (!). His parents gave their children a testimony of faith and respect for the Church. However, his father's witness of daily participation in **the** Eucharist and his great love for God and trust in Divine Providence was a special and daily invitation: "**Whoever loves me, let him go with me to Mass tomorrow morning**." Two of them heard this invitation and soon vocations were born: Bishop Faustino and his sister Magdalena, who became a nun. And the bishop added: "It is important to invite and remind children every day to follow Christ. God calls constantly, even today. The problem is that not everyone hears and responds to the call. And the fate of other people: the sick, children, and neglected or abandoned youth is our concern, because God is in them." On the occasion of the World Day of Prayer for the Sick, all ministers to the sick were thanked for their service and wished continued fruitful service. *Jan Drabczak CSMA*
